This is one of my favorite restaurants in Oxnard. I've only ever had breakfast here but I love it. super delicious omelettes and a bottomless coffee in an beautiful seeing at the pier. It's a local vibe, amazing waitress, sand under your feet on the patio and cute, hungry birds vying for home fries. I remember their original location; I must say. I like this one better.

Who the heck owns this place?! It was honestly nasty. This place must be a scamπ³ What happened here??? The fact that there was no line on a Sunday should've been the first sign . We waited about 30 minutes just for a waitress, and when she finally came over there was zero charm, no warmth, nothing. It felt like we were bothering her just by being there . Then we waited another 30 minutes for the food, and when it finally came out the plates looked sad . The so-called famous Ms. Olsen potatoes were completely lacking flavor -- if you know, you know. The hash browns honestly tasted like they came straight from the freezer . I ordered the eggs Benedict and the sauce tasted totally generic, like something out of a bottle β. And $5.00 for a cup of coffee??? That would be fine if it was good, but it tasted watered down Not to mention it was nothing but senior citizens in there and it honestly felt like they're taking advantage of people. They even added gratuity to a table of 6 without saying anything . That's not okay at all. And on top of that, there was some kind of harbor fee added to the bill -- that's something the owners should be paying, not the customers. Super disappointin

Our group recently visited Mrs. Olsonβs Coffee Hut after seeing several photos of their menu and dishes that made me really excited to try it. The restaurant has a beautiful location and charming dΓ©cor, which created a very pleasant atmosphere and made us look forward to our meal. During our visit, a few menu items we were interested in β including the clam chowder β were unfortunately unavailable. I ended up ordering the tri-tip tacos. The flavor merely okay, the presentation and toppings were minimal compared to what i expected, and some ingredients such as cilantro were missing. Additionally, most of the meals at our table had small errors or missing components. Omelettes missing tri-tip or other protein also, when the food was delivered, several dishes were served to the wrong guests, which created some confusion at the table. The staff was polite and did make an effort to address the concerns, which we appreciated, but the overall dining experience did not fully meet our expectations. Only one plate was not wrong. This location is definitely worth visiting for the scenery, ambiance, and possibly drinks. Hopefully, our experience was just an off day, as the setting truly is

The decor inside has the feel of an old-time local haunt -- very fun and busy with various decorations to catch your eye. I'd say the ambiance and location are the best part of this establishment. There's live music here at times, and the patio area overlooks the harbor. There's always a light breeze blowing through which is really nice during brunch time. The food is alright too. Though I wouldn't say the food is top top reason to come here. Prices are also on part with what you'd pay at a small restaurant.

UPDATE: We ate breakfast here and it was terrible. I don't know if they got a new cook or what is going on. Our food looked great, but that's as far as its goodness went. My son's hot chicken sandwich was not very good. The fries were the only good food out of both our meals. I ordered an omelet with sourdough toast and crispy hash browns. All the moisture was cooked out of the hash browns and it was like eating plastic. My "toast" was just warmed bread that was not even near being toasted. The omelet had almost no cheese and the vegis were way over grilled. My stomach still hurts from my breakfast and it's now midnight that I'm writing this review. Our service at first was great. We got drinks and gave our order quite quickly. Then as we waited for our food, 2 other tables were seated and received their food before we did. One of the tables was seated at least 10 minutes after we ordered. This experience will keep me away for a while. Old review: Our meals were delicious and the service was great.
